First recorded date in the history of Berlin is 1237, when the town is first mentioned in a title deed. Berlin is a young city compared to other European capitals such as Rome, Paris, or London. Berlin is both the German capital and the biggest city in Germany. After being separated into East and West during the Cold War, Berlin was reunited in 1990; it quickly emerged as the most cosmopolitan and exciting city in Germany for art, architecture, and nightlife. The top historic sights in Berlin like Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, the Brandenburg Gate and Potsdamer Platz.

Weather in Berlin has a moderate climate; there are the warmest months on June, July and August, with daily temperatures ranging from 23-24 °C (72°F). The coldest months are December, January and February, with clear, frosty days, and temperatures often below zero.

Berlin is a multi-faceted city. Spend the day at one of the world's finest zoos, and then spend the evening listening to one of the world's finest orchestras. Most travelers make a point of taking in more serious World War II-related sights as well. Most of the original buildings right on the Alexanderplatz were bombed during WWII.
